Free Holidays for Carers

Holidays are offered to Carers without the person they normally care for so that they may have a proper Respite Break.

The sleeping accommodation is one double bedroom and a further bedroom with two single beds. There is ample wardrobe and cupboard space for your clothes.

THERE IS NO CHARGE for the caravan.

The caravan has two toilets and the main bathroom has a shower unit, PLEASE NOTE THE CARAVAN IS NOT CONVERTED FOR DISABLED USE as there are three steps up onto the veranda and all internal fittings are standard, e.g. toilet and shower are NOT adapted.

The caravan is situated at The Richmond Caravan Park in Skegness, just a short walk from the town centre.  During the main season there is also a good bus service which runs from the site. The Park has good amenities; these include a shop, launderette, small café, chip shop, hairdressers, amusement arcade, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre.

There is also a family club room with lots of different entertainment on nearly every night during the main season.  Bar snacks are also available at night in the club room.  There are large Tesco, Morrison and Lidl stores nearby.

A message from our Patron Miss Joanna Lumley OBE, FRGS

" Of all the unsung heroes in the world, carers come top of my list. It is humbling to read of the love, time and dedication they give so constantly to others: their voices are seldom heard, as they so seldom complain. When they DO call for help we must react at once, with support and understanding and gratitude. And lovely money: what seems like peanuts to larger organisations would be a godsend to the Respite Association, as it means that we can help ease the burden (which would be intolerable in our own lives) and bring some comfort, escape and freedom to those who give their all to others every day and night, week after month after year. These are my heroes: these are the stars I admire and applaud. Knowing that every gift to Respite will bring happiness touches me hugely.  I am so proud to be Patron of this fine charity. "
